The film will be directed by Frances Lawrence, responsible for the previous titles of the series. The film will be based on the book, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” by Suzanne Collins, which will be released on May 19. Lionsgate studio sees great potential in the title.
The author of the book will write the initial screenplay. The old team will also return. Michael Arndt, one of the writers of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire , was hired to work on the prequel to the famous trilogy . The film will be produced by Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, who served the same roles on the other three titles in the series.
The protagonist of the book’s prequel to the series is 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow. When his family grapples with problems, he sees the Games as an opportunity to help his loved ones. I am becoming a mentor for a tribute from District 12. His further fate will depend on his success during the merciless game.
