Once again we save the world!
In the Cosmic Odyssey an unusual alliance is formed. Namely, Darkseid decides to join forces with the gods of the New Genesis, as well as the Earthlings. It is worth emphasizing that he has been trying to conquer both worlds for years and, amazingly, he is the first to reach out to consent. All of this has resulted in the emergence of a powerful Anti-Life entity that can destroy the entire universe. Therefore, any disagreements should be set aside. Here is an extraordinary team of Batman, Superman, Starfire, Orion, and the last living Martian, embarking on a journey to the four worlds to stop the aspects of Anti-Life before they lead to disaster. Everything is coordinated by Darkseid with the Great Father of the New Genesis. So what can we expect? A fierce carnage, because on every planet superheroes are forced to face a completely different threat.
Darkseid vs Superman and Batman
There are quite a few interesting characters in the pages of this comic. In addition to the most famous Superman and Batman, we also have Green Lantern or Jason Blood. Different heroes are different characters and this is what you see at every step in the Cosmic Odyssey . Superman, despite his superhuman strength, is not prone to violence, and his partner Orion, as befits a warrior, loves to organize a bloody slaughter on opponents. The Green Lantern is distinguished by exaggerated self-confidence and arrogance. Darkseid is an interesting case, because on the one hand I want to conquer the universe at all costs, and on the other hand, he is ready to ask his opponents for help to save him from a force more powerful than him. Of course, he is constantly plotting behind the backs of his allies.
Hellboy creator dash
Mike Mignola is a talented cartoonist. Even his previous work looks great. This is best seen in another entry in the DC Deluxe series , the Mike Mignola Universe . In the Cosmic Odyssey, we do not yet notice many of the characteristic elements that can be seen in his later works. Nevertheless, I really like his style and it was a pleasure to delve into the story. As for the edition, unfortunately the cover without the dust jacket looks vague in my opinion. It just looks like a regular notebook. Fortunately, this is the only element I can find fault with. Alternatively, you can also mention the terrible choice of colors on the title page, which makes the writer’s name illegible.
Is it worth joining forces and saving the universe?
The Space Odyssey is a solid position. The plot is not overly revealing, just another saving the world from a cosmic threat; however, there are some interesting twists and turns, which makes it hard to break away from this story. In addition, the heroes form interesting pairs that do not work well together. I especially liked the dilemma faced by John Stewart, a member of the Green Lantern Corps. At the end, of course, Mike Mignola’s great line should be praised. All in all, the DC Delux series is a very interesting comic book collection; you can come across an intriguing position, and this is undoubtedly the Space Odyssey .
