The film was originally made in 1961 as an animation for children, but on November 27, 1996, the premiere of a remake of the cinematic kit took place, this time in an actor version. The plot of the production takes place in London and tells the story of the marriage of Roger and Anita, who together take care of two pets. Their Dalmatians, like their owners, are madly in love with each other. Soon it turns out that a group of black and white puppies will be born. Then comes Cruella – Anita’s ruthless boss, obsessed with Dalmatian fur. So, she decides to get the young puppies, no matter what, ignoring the objections of the terrified owners.
101 Dalmatianswas directed by Stephen Herek, and John Hughes was responsible for the script for the film. On the big screen, we saw Jeff Daniels as Roger Perry, Glenn Close as Cruella De Mon, Joely Richardson as Anita Campbell-Green and Joan Plowright as Nanny. Hugh Laurie also starred as Jaspear, Mark William as Horace and John Shrapnel as L. Skinner. Although the world premiere took place in 1996, the film could be watched in Poland since 1997. At the same time, he was awarded the Kids Choice Awards in the category of the favorite animal TV star, named after the Dalmatian Pongo. The production was also nominated for 5 other awards, including Golden Globes. The film was also continued with the title 102 Dalmatians.
