During this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, AMC presented the trailer of the long-awaited series entitled Interview with the vampire , based on the 1976 novel by Anne Rice of the same name. The teasers of the upcoming adaptation have already introduced the viewers to the key characters (Lestat, Louis, Daniel Molloy), although it is the new trailer that reveals the most of what will hit AMC and AMC + in October.
Anne Rice’s novel Interview with the Vampire was released in 1976, so fans had to wait almost twenty years for the first film adaptation. Its premiere took place in 1994, and the cast included Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Kirsten Dunst. For many years, the writer received offers from various sides about making a series out of the entire Vampire Chronicles . In the end, it was AMC, production was announced last year.
When the show’s production was officially confirmed, his showrunner Rolin Jones said:
In 1973, a desperate mother and extraordinary writer started what became the best vampire novel ever. […] Almost fifty years later, we know what is expected of us. We know how much this book and the others in the series mean to this huge fanbase.
In the latest Interview with the Vampire we will see Sam Reid (Lestat de Lioncourt), Jacob Anderson (Louis de Pointe du Lac), Bailey Bass (Claudia), Eric Bogosian (Daniel Molloy), Kalyne Coleman (Grace), Christian Robinson (Levi), Assad Zamana (Rashid) as well as Maura Grace Athari (Antoinette).
