Ghostface leaves Woodsboro to move to the city of skyscrapers and yellow taxis – New York. As you can see in the Scream 6 trailer below , a group of Woodsboro survivors leave for NY to start all over again – unfortunately, they’re still haunted by the iconic killer character. In the trailer we will see actresses already known from Scream (2022) : Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera. The stars of the series, Courteney Cox and Hayden Panettiere, are also returning. Kirby (portrayed by Panettiere) was believed by most to be dead after the events of Scream 4 , but apparently that was an incorrect assumption.
For the first time in the series, Dermot Mulroney, Samara Weaving, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra ( She-Hulk ) and others will appear in the new part.
Why New York?
In an interview earlier this year, Segarra said that he felt moving the action to New York would make the famous horror movie even more terrifying given the sheer size and complexity of the city.
It will be about 20 times more dangerous. Downright awful. You also see how in a city like New York, everyone does their own thing, and when someone calls for help, no one comes with it. No one comes to help, you know, everyone says something like “I’m not getting into it.” It’s scary because Ghostface is chasing you, but at the same time you can see people and their reaction to this situation. Anyway, I think I’ve probably said too much already.

Why won’t we see Neve Campbell?
Viewers were quick to notice the absence of longtime Scream leader Neve Campbell in the trailer, who left the project due to a pay discrepancy.
I didn’t feel that what I was offered represented the value I bring to this franchise and have been contributing for 25 years. As a woman in this business, I think it’s very important that we are appreciated and fight for that appreciation. Frankly, I don’t believe that if I were a man, and in 25 years I made five parts of a huge, blockbuster series, I would be offered the amount I am offered now. Deep down, I knew I couldn’t accept it. I couldn’t be on set feeling unappreciated and feeling like there was no justice around it.
