Unreal is a remarkable combination of historical drama and science-fiction in the production of HBO. Set in the Victorian era London, the story tells the story of extraordinary people affected by a mysterious power that allows them to change the world. In August 1896, Victorian London was shaken by an extraordinary event. Many people, mostly women, receive supernatural abilities. From now on, the entire group is in mortal danger. People who used to stand on the sidelines of society suddenly become a real threat to the traditions and social norms of London at the end of the 19th century. The mysterious and impetuous widow Amalia True (Laura Donnelly) and the brilliant young detective Penance Adair (Ann Skelly) protect and hide the recipients. But they have to face brutal forces determined to annihilate a new kind of people.
It is unreal a whole gallery of extraordinary characters, and even the most insignificant heroes have important roles to play. The topic of strong women fighting for their rights is extremely important and current here, and the series itself is part of the trend of historical stories, in which women come to the fore.

And as an actress, I want to play deepened heroines , and this is Amelia, who is in no way inferior to male characters in other series, “ says Laura Donnelly, and Ann Skelly adds: ” When I was little , I dreamed of becoming an actress. But in my beloved films, that is, “Back to the Future” and “The Man with the Scar”, almost exclusively men appeared, women were flashed in the background. The presented London is a fantastic place full of innovative discoveries, futuristic visions and steampunk aesthetics. Here, an ordinary carriage turns into a fantastic vehicle, and further ideas await implementation by the original inventor Penance Adair. However, all this does not differ from the canonical aesthetics of the Victorian era – the protagonists carry out their boldest tasks, but also present themselves in beautiful dresses with corsets, miraculously reflecting the spirit of the era.
