Over the past few months, Lord of the Rings fans have only received scraps of information about the production of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum , but this week Nacon has revealed many more details with a gameplay trailer. The premiere is scheduled for September 1, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and personal computers with Windows operating system.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action adventure game created by Daedalic Entertainment studio , the distributor of which will be, again, the above-mentioned studio and Nacon . The inspiration was, of course, the Lord of the Rings trilogy by JRR Tolkien. Unreal Engine was used for production.
Daedalic Entertainment announced work on the game in March 2019, announcing the release as 2021. After starting cooperation with Nacon, the premiere was postponed to 2022. In May 2022 , the premiere is scheduled for September 1 of the same year .

The plot is set to take place between the end of The Hobbit and the beginning of The Lord of the Rings . It will focus on the figure of Gollum (tormented by an internal conflict between himself and his old self – Sméagol), who sets off for his “treasure” and ends up in Mordor on the way. The character will travel through Middle-earth (including Barad-dûr and Mirkwood) and deal with opponents. The game will feature both canonical characters (such as Gandalf the Gray, Thranduil) and new ones, created by scriptwriters.
From the description of the game, we learn that we will rely on Gollum’s cunning, cunning and agility to overcome obstacles on our way, e.g. using his climbing skills. Although our hero is not a fighter, we can count on treacherous murders if the opportunity arises, as well as other, creative methods of eliminating the enemy. In addition, the decisions we make will have an impact on Gollum’s personality. We will decide which side will emerge victorious from this conflict.
