Meanwhile, in Bukowy Las
The Rabat family currently consists of Narcyz Rabatek – a tender and caring father of five bunnies, Aunt Cynia, who looks after the house with great love, and the little heroes: Bratka, Koniczynka, Stokrotka, Bławatka and Różyczka. The rabbit babies are half orphans because their mother was killed by hunters. Pansy is the oldest sibling and always has lots of ideas; he is characterized by self-confidence, creativity and an increased willingness to get his own way. Clover is a dreamer and an artistic soul, very talented but shy. Stokrotek is the youngest rabbit brother – he does not part with his cuddly toy, even when he goes to the garden, his favorite place to spend time. Bławatek is an athlete, explorer and collector who always sticks to his older brother Bratek. And Różyczka – resourceful, funny, with ambitions; the family knows that you can always count on her. A family of seven, living on the top of a beautiful hill, opens the gate to its world for the reader. Due to the pastel colors, the drawings easily catch the reader’s eye, and the richly colored illustrations demand constant attention.
Volume after volume
In the first volume, the bunnies celebrated an important holiday – Stokrotka’s birthday – and everyone, except the birthday boy, secretly wanted to prepare a surprise party for him. In the second, currently reviewed volume, we meet Sowa Luna, who is looking for choristers to perform at the concert of the famous cat singer Romeo. Różyczka Rabatek is a huge fan of the artist’s talent, so she and her brothers will almost immediately go on a journey through the forest to fulfill their biggest dream – to sing with their idol, Romeo! The story of the little heroine is very functional – parents can easily encourage the youngest to read by singing or rhyming with the heroes – Rabbits go hiking, shoes are worn from hiking … […]Our team is rushing forward, and who is clumsy – it’s quiet! Paw by paw, step by step, every kilometer is like one jump! And once and twice, jump whenever you want – we’ve already walked five kilometers! It should also be emphasized that Tales from the Beech Forest is a comic book which, according to the designation My first comic 5+ , is adapted to the age of the reader – the youngest can easily try to read on their own, although reading with a parent also has its advantages!
The ending word
The latest offer of Egmont, by Jouannigot, can be liked as much as Mr. Borsuk and Mrs. Lisica (both series are marked with the My First Comic 5+ sign ). Not only is the comic book format (similar to A4), a hard cover with a sponge, a beautiful black and white end paper with colorful characters of the Rabatek family fascinating, but also an informative story. The rabbit family quickly attracts the reader and successfully introduces him to its world. An interesting fact is that Opowieści z Bukowego Lasu is a continuation of children’s books written for almost twenty years by Geneviève Huriet (in Poland in the 1990s they were published under the collective title Wesołe adventures of rabbits), a French-Canadian-Luxembourgish TV series was also created – The Rabatek Family ( La Famille Passiflore , The Bellflower Bunnies ). in Wieczorynka (September 2008 – September 2009).
