The executive team will be led by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy – a duo that has already delighted fans with the Westworld series . The long-awaited series in the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout is currently in production, and meanwhile we’ve received a video from Bethesda where fans can briefly glimpse the iconic power armor.
The video below features talks with multiple Bethesda producers and designers about bringing Fallout to the TV world. At the end, we see Nolan in the movie set, and a character wearing power armor gives him a drink known from the games: Nuka-Cola.
When we think about Fallout and its future, of course it will be more games. In the near future something completely new that excites me a lot will be the TV program. Lots of movie producers and so on said, “Hey, that would be a great, great movie.” And for over 10 years we’ve been saying no. We just didn’t like it.
Said Todd Howard, executive producer of Bethesda .
It’s fun to see it. I am glad that the IP that I helped create has grown and turned into such a franchise. I mean, we’re making a TV show!
– adds Fallout co-creator Tim Cain.
Istvan Pelz, Art Director of Bethesda Game Studios, also appeared on the video and told about the show’s current design. According to Pelz, the production will remain very faithful to the original concept created for games.
In fact, I was amazed at how much they delved into our original visions and visual designs, our world built in games directly translated onto the screen. It’s reassuring that they did well the first time. For example, our approach to Fallout was correct and it became the way forward, even if we jumped to a different medium.
