Venom: Let There Be Carnage ( the 2018 sequel to Venom ) will return to the story of investigative reporter Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy). The hero has been connected with a symbiote for over a year, which gives him unique powers. This time, working with Detective Mulligan and the San Francisco Police, he will have to deal with a serial killer, Cletus Kasadym (Woody Harrelson). After a failed execution, the killer will escape from prison and then join forces with Francis Barrison – Shirek of the Ravencroft Institute. This place is known as the sanctuary of Spider-Man’s many crazy enemies. The goal of those two will be to make as much slaughter as possible.
About Ravencroft, in the context of the connection between Spider-Man and Venom – as there are many indications of this, commented the director of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Andy Serkis:
This cute little seat is obviously well known to fans. I won’t say much about it, but of course it does feature some of the greatest super villains in the world. It’s a secret place that not even Detective Mulligan and the San Francisco Police Department know about.
As he says, in the upcoming movie we will get to know this place from a slightly different point of view, but in itself it will be a combination of the worlds of two Marvel characters: the world of Venom and Spider-Man. He didn’t want to reveal any details, but that alone can make fans wonder. Besides, not only that.
The president of Sony Motion Picture Group, Sanford Panitch, recently revealed in an interview with Variety that there is indeed a plan to connect the two universes . The paths of mutual cooperation between the MCU and Sony would be paved for the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which the Spider Man will face another famous villain. According to rumors, perhaps with Norman Osborn (Green Goblin) himself. Panitch spoke of it like this:
We don’t really think about our 900 characters in the Spider-Man universe. We have a Marvel universe. Number of characters we have…. wait until you see the next Venom. You won’t miss Spider-Man. But it would be exciting if they met, wouldn’t it?
Venom will have little time to intervene and overcome the combined forces of the villains. And we, as viewers, will be able to find out about it on September 24 this year, when the film will debut on the cinema screens. Some time ago, a production trailer appeared on the web, which we wrote about here . Take a look and see for yourself!
