Deborah Chow claims that he does not rule out the possibility of creating more adventures for Obi-Wan Kenobi. “Never say never” – is this a preview of the next part of the series about the Jedi Master?

Since the launch of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+, viewers have wondered if Ewan McGregor’s return was a one-time appearance or signified his long-term commitment to the series. Recently, director Deborah Chow stated that she has no plans to shoot any more episodes. However, she admitted that the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi and the events of Star Wars: A New Hope are another decade apart.

[Obi-Wan Kenobi] was designed as a limited series that was definitively closed. A New Hope is still a few decades away , so never say never.

– said the director in an interview with Deadline

Obi-Wan Kenobi’s origins began as a movie, but after the financial disappointment of Han Solo: A Star Wars Story , Lucasfilm shifted its focus more towards television series. Instead of dropping the design altogether , it was changed to a limited run.

The season finale offered a satisfying resolution to Kenobi’s journey. It also sparked excitement to see more of Jedi Master McGregor. However, Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy shared earlier this year that “never say never” is a prospect for more Obi-Wan.

This is not active development. But never say never because there is always a possibility. This show was very well received and Deborah Chow did a spectacular job. Ewan McGregor really wants a sequel. Everyone’s got their hands on deck with what we’re doing right now, as you can see from what we showed everyone [at the celebration]. We will bring this to our attention again, perhaps in the future.

Kennedy explained in April at the Star Wars Celebration

Even if fans don’t get a second season of the show, it can’t be ruled out that more Obi-Wan will appear in the series’ future. Right now, the projects Lucasfilm is developing for both the big screen and Disney+ take place after Obi-Wan died or before he became a Jedi.
