The director can be associated with such productions as Superman & Lois or Riverdale. Krieger directed the pilot episode of the first title, as well as the first three episodes and the season one finale of the latter. While working for Netflix, he also co-wrote the opening episodes of You and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Another production recently premiered, in which he served as one of the directors – Shadow and Bone, an adaptation of Leigh Bardugo’s fantasy trilogy.
The action of the Green Lantern series , based on the comic book series from the DC universe, will take place on Earth in 1941. As viewers, we will primarily follow the origins of the first Green Lantern, FBI agent Alan Scott, and the events forty years later. Then the cocky Guy Gardner (played by Finna Wittrock) and the half-alien Bree Jarta will come to the fore. Apart from them, we will see a number of other Lanterns that appeared in the comic books. In addition to Krieger, the series will also feature Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Seth Grahame-Smith as writers and executive producers, as well as Georff Johns, Sarah Schechter, David Madden and David Katzenberg. The co-producers are Elizabeth Hunter and Sara Saedi.
Recently, Guggenheim spoke about the project. We can associate the man as the screenwriter of the Arrow series or the 2011 film adaptation of Green Lantern . During a special panel hosted by the ComicBook portal, he said that although the production will take the form of a TV series, the quality of a blockbuster movie:
It just so happens that I believe – and not a common perception that you can’t make a 10-hour movie or an 8-episode TV series in the form of an 8-hour movie. I don’t think it works. When I see someone do it, the episodes in the middle are kind of clunky. I think you have to approach a TV series and treat each episode as a separate entity.
We still do not know the release date of the production, although we know that it will debut on the HBO Max platform.
