The current writer of the Berserk manga releases the schedule for the series finale!

After many years of dark adventures, cruel battles and deep reflections on the nature of the human soul, the legendary manga Berserk is coming to its epic conclusion

After the tragic death of creator Kentaro Miura, many believed that Berserk would remain unfinished. Fortunately, Miura’s good friends, writer Kouji Mori and the artists from Studio Gaga decided that, in order to honor the deceased Mangaka, they would strive to end the story of Guts and the Falcon Gang. While the new creative team hasn’t confirmed how many additional chapters are left until the conclusion of Berserk , Mori hinted in a recent interview that manga readers may have to wait quite a long time for the grand finale.

When we last left Guts and his hodgepodge of adventurers, the Black Swordsman’s situation was looking dire once again. While Guts eventually managed to restore Casca’s sanity thanks to the magic wielders of Elfhelm, their reunion was short-lived. Griffith and his terrifying new gang have launched an attack on the mystical place. The supernatural beings, who had proven to be some of Guts’ strongest allies to date, were wiped out, and Griffith himself took the opportunity to kidnap Casca, leaving the manga hero struggling with what to do next.

No matter how Berserk ends, Guts’ story will remain one of the most brutal in the anime world.

It takes a decade to complete the great journey

In a recent interview, Kouji Mori stated that Berserk would not take “more than ten years” to complete. Although the author did not specify the number of chapters remaining in this brutal manga, the creative team clearly has a plan of action thanks to the discussions and notes they received from Kentaro Miura before his death. It seems that before Guts’ story comes to an end, he will still have many hard roads ahead of him.

Unfortunately, we don’t know if Berserk will receive a new anime adaptation. The previous series focusing on the Hawk’s Company was Berserk: Memorial Edition , which focused on the Golden Age story and re-edited material from the trilogy of films that hit the silver screen. If a new anime series is confirmed, there is plenty of manga material that has yet to be adapted for the small screen.
