Filming for season three of The Witcher , a Netflix production, has recently begun, and the internet has already spread the news that the developers have begun planning season four in the meantime.
In an interview with Brigade Radio, Stephen Surjik, one of The Witcher ‘s directors , confirmed that season four is already scheduled. Surjik is responsible for the first two episodes of the third season, so he also emphasized that he did not know if he would be involved in directing future episodes of the series. However, it can be inferred that since he knows about the plans for season four, he will most likely be working on it.
The writers and producers have already planned the fourth season. I don’t know if I’m included in this plan, but at least they told me they were planning it. – admitted the director.
Fans also suspect that the series will be continued, because the universe of Andrzej Sapkowski is so extensive that the source material will be enough for a long time, also taking into account the fact that Netflix’s production is not a faithful adaptation of Geralt’s adventures. Producers can go with their interpretation in every direction, developing the plot and the world presented even more, which would translate into even more possibilities.
It is not yet known when the premiere of the third season will take place, but it should be assumed that it will not be earlier than 2023. However, fans of Netflix production do not have to worry, because this year will probably see new products, namely The Witcher: Blood Origin series.
