Reboot "Pirates of the Caribbean" will rise after all! Disney has appointed Craig Mazin and Ted Elliott as the new scriptwriters for the film. Will Johnny Depp reboot?
Disney has appointed new writers to reboot the Pirates of the Caribbean . Deadpool and Zombieland co-creators Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were initially to work on the film . However, they had to quit in February, when the writers were consumed by Zombieland: Balls in the Head , the final touches to the YouTube series Wayne . Even then, they were also starting to think about Deadpool 3 . Since then, the rise of the new Pirates of the Caribbean has been in doubt. Fortunately, Disney has just announced that work will finally start with Craig Mazin and Ted Elliott as new writers.
Craig Mazin is a screenwriter, director and producer of the historic HBO series Chernobyl , for which he received an Emmy Award, and the creator of comedy films Scary Movie 3 , Scary Movie 4 , The Hangover in Bangkok , Hangover 3 .
Ted Elliott previously collaborated on the first installment of Pirates of the Caribbean ( Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl , 2003), as well as The Rider of Nowhere (also with Johnny Depp). He also co-wrote the scripts for the animations of Shrek and Aladdin (1992) and many other famous films.
Johnny Depp is unlikely to return in a reboot as Jack Sparrow. Fans signed a petition for Disney to consider his return, but by not hiring him, the company could save up to $ 90 million, because that’s what the star earned on the last film in the series ( Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge , 2017).
