“The Craft: Legacy” – a new version of an old hit for teenagers

The Craft Legacy

“The Craft”, translated into Polish as the Witches School by storm won the hearts of teenagers in 1996. Will the new “The Craft: Legacy” from Blumhouse Pictures also conquer a younger audience?

This movie is a new version of an old teen horror movie. You’ll understand what’s going on without any problems, even if you missed out on the fun of the original. In short: a young girl comes to Los Angeles and, of course, is in trouble at the new school. Three alienated girls – Nancy, Bonnie and Rochelle – offer a helping hand. Together, they form a quartet that will mix things up well in the area thanks to a certain demon and secret forces. Turns out it’s not that good to have supernatural powers.

Twenty-four years later it turns out that time is running out and the problems are still the same. The young witches Anno Domini 2020 play Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna. Michelle Monaghan and David Duchovny are to be a lure for slightly older viewers.

The idea has been refreshed to suit modern times. What was the production force of the nineties has not changed – four pretty girls, each in their own style, always up-to-date troubles of teenagers at all times, great muse and the theme of a “sorcerer’s apprentice” whose power is out of control. Fun fact – in both films the witches make the same line

We are the weirdos, mister.

The 1996 film starring Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, Robin Tunney and Rachel True was an unexpectedly huge hit. I wonder if the new version will also win the hearts of viewers? It will be available on demand on paid platforms from October 28, just before Halloween.
