The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, the next installment of the ever-popular horror film franchise will hit BLU-RAY ™ and DVD on September 15.
The latest installment in the The Conjuring series is a formidable story of horrific murder and unknown evil forces. It even shocked seasoned paranormal researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most amazing incidents of their career begins with a fight for the soul of a young boy. Soon the marriage is faced with something it has not yet dealt with. There is an unprecedented trial – for the first time in US history, a murder suspect defends himself by claiming that he was possessed by a demon.
The creators take on the actual 1981 case of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, which is the first known lawsuit in which the accused defended himself by claiming that he had become a victim of demon possession himself. The horror formula of the haunted house known from the previous parts is replaced by a story about a paranormal investigation.
I knew the next Conjuring would have to look completely different from the previous two films or the series would never have progressed. Another haunted house movie might feel like a replay of the entertainment. I was determined to bring a breath of fresh air to the series with my team. The new version had to be unique – explains the director of the first two films, James Wan.
Departure from the proven convention is not the end of changes. The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is also the first film in the series to not feature the writer of the previous films as a director. He was replaced by the horror film Topielisko, known from the horror film set in the same universe . Curse of La Llorona by Michael Chaves. James Wan himself, who supervised the work from the position of producer, did not spare praise to his deputy.
I like him very much and find him very smart. I watched him grow as a filmmaker while working on The Curse of La Llorona, and felt that his creativity and sensitivity were what the Conjuring needed. Michael has a lot of energy and knows how to use it. He also knows how to manage a movie set. It was great to watch him translate the experience from the previous production into working on this film “
Some things, however, remain where they were. The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It marks the return of a charismatic pair of actors from previous installments of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.
In addition to the lead roles, the film also includes Ruairi O’Connor ( Spanish Princess ), Sarah Catherine Hook ( Monsterland ) and Julian Hilliard ( Haunted House on the Hill ).
