Spokko and CD Projekt have published an official statement in response to criticism of the new version of The Witcher: Monster Busters . They explained where the drastic changes came from and what was the purpose of introducing them. The producers stated on the official website of the game that they believe in the new update and that they want to stay on this path in the development of the game. They touched on the topics that players complained about the most:
We are not afraid to admit that we have made mistakes. One was for sure the way we communicated these changes. We introduced them without the sufficient explanation behind these changes. Another mistake we made was that the difficulty level of some gameplay elements was raised too much (e.g. creating regular monsters that require alchemy). In the end, we miscalculated the expectations of the wider community and made changes that impacted the game’s most dedicated fans. This is a lesson for us and something we will draw inspiration from for a long time to come.
The Witcher: Monster Slayer will be unplayable for a while, as Spokko will take a while to fix the issues. The developer also counts on player feedback to be able to efficiently improve the gameplay. Hopefully the mobile game will be fixed quickly and loyal fans of The Witcher will be able to return to their profession of a monster slayer.
