The premiere of the anonymous spin-off of the cult Disney fairy tale is planned for next year. Ariel will appear on the Disney Junior platform. It was also revealed who will lend his voice to the animation cast.
Disney Junior has announced more cast names for its new animated series. Ariel stars Mykal-Michelle Harris, with Taye Diggs as King Triton and Amber Riley as Ursula. This animated show for Disney Junior audiences follows 8-year-old Ariel and all her friends. Kids clearly enjoyed Ariel’s live-action adventures, and Disney is keen to capitalize on some of that success.

For over 30 years, the story of The Little Mermaid has been loved by viewers around the world. It gives me great joy to introduce the new version of Ariel from Disney Junior to preschoolers around the world.
Alyssa Sapire, vice president of development, series and strategy for Disney Junior, also added some thoughts on the mermaid:
When creating The Little Mermaid from Disney Junior, we knew we wanted to create an atmosphere that would be full of life and magic, showcasing the imagination of our young Ariel, who, like our preschool viewers, is as vast as the sea.
Halle Bailey, who played the role of Ariel in The Little Mermaid , knew that the production would be a very important moment of representation for younger viewers. Her casting sparked a lot of reactions on social media. Speaking to Deadline, the actress said that seeing young girls dressed up as her version of Ariel was enough for her to know she made the right decision. Reaction videos for the movie trailer were popping up everywhere, and it’s easy to see how much of an impact it had on her performance.
This moment means everything to me. I am very grateful to be here. I really feel honored and I’m glad that the day has come where we can all watch it.
