Few forces are as dominant in the streaming world as Stranger Things . The fourth season of the acclaimed sci-fi series scored record marks for Netflix, making its debut as the largest single season in the history of English-language streaming television.

Nielsen’s latest data also shows that Stranger Things is hugely popular compared to other titles, even hits like The Boys.

Nielsen released streaming data from July 6-12. The Boys made a splash with their return in season three, but its success pales in comparison to the numbers Stranger Things achieved in week two.

During this time, The Boys recorded 919 million minutes on Amazon Prime Video. Stranger Things was watched for over 4.2 billion minutes over the same seven-day period. Last week it set a new Nielsen record of 7.2 billion viewing minutes.

Stranger Things is likely to remain at the top of the streaming charts for quite some time. After three years of waiting for the fourth season, fans are already beginning to wonder when the fifth and final installment of the series might appear.

“We are still considering the release date. Producers want more time for production and post-production. If we accelerate the premiere, not everything will be fine-tuned. We want to give everyone the time they need to go according to plan, ”co-creator Matt Duffer told Collider.
