It looks like RPG fans will have Christmas a bit earlier this year. Wizards of the Coast have been preparing a special gift for us for some time and we finally know when we can expect it.
Ladies and gentlemen, players and Game Masters, here are Tasha’s Cauldron Of Everything .
The book is an add-on to the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons, and is the largest expansion to the system in three years since Xanathar’s Guide To Everything . Inside you will find, among others:
- 22 new subclasses; including those that appeared in earlier editions of Uneathed Arcana (you can read about the last two here ),
- new character traits and opportunities as well as modifications due to race benefits,
- Group Patron mechanics that will allow the heroes to create a common backstory,
- additional and expanded rules, including mechanics for NPCs, opponents and the world itself,
- tons of new spells as well as magic items, artifacts and enchanted tattoos
- a guide on running session zero,
- riddles.
You can read more about the content on the official website .
One of the most interesting novelties will be the ability to personalize spells, which, however, is not yet known too much. It seems that under certain circumstances the player will be able to, for example, change or choose the type of damage the spell does. Another interesting addition is the mechanics of changing the subclass when moving to the next level. To do this, the player will have to spend a specific number of days and money on it (the numbers of the new level times two and times 100 gp, i.e. when reaching the 6th level it will be 12 days and 600 gold coins).
As it was revealed yesterday, although the US premiere will take place as planned on November 17, the title will be available in Europe only on December 1, 2020.
However, the book can be ordered online now, at a special, promotional price.
