The best surprise – review of the comic “La supersorpresa. Gaetano e Zolletta”

Who among us doesn’t like birthdays? Zolletta donkey loves them! The protagonist is aware in the morning that a great party will start in a few hours, and its main organizer is Zolletta’s father. A La supersorpresa. Gaetano e Zolletta is a beautiful story of love about understanding and trust.

 

Comic for 5+

The authors of the comic book are Silvia Vecchini and Sualzo. This is the artists’ second joint project (the first part of the series about Gaetano and Zolletta is called Gaetano e Zolletta ). The adventures of donkeys allow us to look at the parent-child relationship from a completely different perspective. In the first volume, Bartłomiej tries to become a hero in the eyes of his son, in the second – he organizes a really big birthday for him! Small-sized books are simple stories. In addition, watercolor illustrations allow you to better imagine the world depicted. On the one hand, the youngest readers – 5+ – will probably read the first comic in their lives , on the other – the series about Gaetano and Zolletta are classic picture books that will delight audiences of all ages.

Happy birthday son!

Zolletta’s birthday is a great event! In order for the birthday boy and his guests to have a good time, it is necessary, as the main organizer probably says, to prepare many attractions – incl. a ball pool, a flying balloon, a skateboarding ramp, a rest area or a treasure hunt. Bartłomiej has a plan and – what is more – he also has the feeling that he is able to implement it. However, everything gets complicated when Zolletta reveals that he only invited guests three hours earlier! An unexpected twist leads to a series of comic mishaps, and the catastrophe – so real – hangs in the balance! Bartholomew, however, remains composed and performs the function of the birthday organizer with dignity. For a father, the most important thing is the happiness of his son, especially since he has waited so long for his birthday.

In perspective

The story of Zolletta and his father Gaetano is captivating from the very first page! The comic is very handy (due to its format), additionally – the sides are both vertical and horizontal, so the joy of the kids is guaranteed! The adventures of the heroes are amusing, and if we additionally initiate a fun of reading aloud during reading, we are sure that our pupils will quickly feel the atmosphere. Summing up, I can say for sure that Gaetano e Zolletta is one of the most charming series currently published by Egmont and labeled as “my first comic 5+”. You can also pay attention to the cover, which is really solid and will protect the book from damage for many long months.
