Źródło: EGMONT

On April 27th this year. Egmont has planned the premiere of the album Batman Knightfall: Prologue , which is an introduction to this extremely ambitious, five-volume saga gathering all the threads related to the unforgettable clash between Bane and Batman. On this occasion Egmont publishing house has also prepared the DC CLASSIC diagram, which shows the chronology of the released classic DC superhero albums.

Although almost 30 years have passed since the release of Batman Knigtfall , it remains one of the most important canonical stories about the Dark Knight to this day. In the early 1990s, it was an event that, like the Death of Superman , shocked not only the DC universe, but also readers. Batman Knightfall is the Dark Knight’s first grand crossover and one of the most important stories in its mythology. It was on its pages that Bane, a ruthless killer and a great strategist who first defeated the Batman, made his debut. The echoes of the tragic meeting of these two opponents are reflected in the DC comics to this day and in a way redefined Batman.

The defender of Gotham has never met an opponent of his kind before. Despite the rather rich gallery of villains, Batman needed a whole new antagonist – other than the Joker or Scarecrow – to match him in both intellect and physical strength. This is how the character of Bane emerged, who is not only a ruthless bastard, but an excellent strategist.

50 years after his debut, the Dark Knight has been defeated. And the scene involving Bane is one of the most iconic in the history of the Dark Knight. This theme will be used and processed not only in comics ( Tom King’s Batman series), but also in movies ( The Dark Knight Rises Christopher Nolan) and games ( Batman: Arkham Origins ).

Batman Knightfall is a game that no fan of the Dark Knight should miss. It’s also a great opportunity to meet the many colorful characters that fill Gotham. The first volume includes, among others two iconic stories: Batman: Venom and the Sword of Azrael, which is the prologue of the entire saga, which will eventually be closed in five thick albums. In the following parts, readers will witness a fight with Bane, learn about Gotham’s fate after Batman’s removal from the shadow, follow the slow transformation of the costume and the methods used by his deputy, and finally see the return of the main character. This edition will be the most complete version of the event available on the market, and compared to the story published in notebooks by TM-Semic – a version extended by several hundred pages.

Batman Knightfall: Prologue is the first volume of the series in which we learn about the origins of Bane and Azrael – two new characters in the DC universe that will be crucial for further events. We also observe Batman struggling with a mysterious disease. Even though he seeks help from a Shondra Kinsolving therapist, his condition continues to deteriorate. Meanwhile, there are many deadly criminals in Gotham. The Joker, Poison Ivy, the Mad Hatter and Killer Croc are all set to do whatever they can to wreak havoc on the streets. A new player also appears in town – the madman known as Bane. He is destined to destroy Batman and take control of Gotham.

The authors of the script are legendary creators such as Chuck Dixon, Doug Moench and Dennis O’Neil. The drawings are the responsibility of excellent artists such as Joe Quesada, Graham Nolan, Tom Grindberg, Jim Aparo and many others.

Abum contains materials originally published in American notebooks: Batman: The Sword Of Azrael # 1–4, Batman Legends of the Dark Knight # 16–20, Batman: Vengeance of Bane # 1, Batman # 484–491, Legends of The Dark Knight Annual # 2, Detective Comics # 654–658.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the Batman Knightfall saga , Egmont has prepared a diagram that shows the chronology of the release of classic DC superhero albums between albums in which the American publisher introduced changes affecting the shape of the universe. There is not necessarily a plot continuity between the series shown side by side. Their proximity, on the other hand, indicates that the world is presented at the same stage of development of the multiverse.
