Netflix presented the first teaser announcing the new animation. Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 is the next installment of the cult Japanese cyberpunk. The action of the series is to take place in 2045 and, just like before, the main characters will be the agents of Section 9 headed by Major Motoko Kusanagi. Details about the story remain unknown for the time being. You can watch the teaser below.
Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 will be developed by Production IG and SOLA Digital Arts. Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki became the directors of the animation. The first gentleman already has experience with this universe. He previously worked on the Stand Alone Complex series , which told an alternative version of the events to those presented in the movie from the 90s of the last century. The character design will be handled by Ilya Kuvshinow. The animation is to be fully created with the help of computer technology.
Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 is expected to debut next year. A specific release date has not been disclosed yet.
