Netflix has set out to produce an animated adaptation of the best-selling fantasy book series about the fate of brave dragons. It will be a family series, perfect for the whole family.
American director Avy DuVernay [ As They See Us (2019), Selma (2014) ] has undertaken to create an animated series for the fantasy book series Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland. The award-winning artist enters the world of animation for the first time, making a film adaptation consisting of 10 episodes. The story turned out to be a hit with Scholastic , selling 14 million copies worldwide. Tui T. Sutherland is known for the Menagerie trilogy , the Pet Trouble series , and Spirit Animals and Seekers ( as part of Erina’s team Hunter).
DuVernay will produce Wings of Fire for Netflix and Warner Bros. Animation, with Dan Milano, Christa Starr, Justin Ridge, Tui T. Sutherland, Sam Register and Sarah Bremner for ARRAY Filmworks. Milano, Starr and Ridge will also serve as executive producers on the new series.

Wings of Fire is an animated adaptation of the best-selling book series by Tui T. Sutherland from New York Times and USA Today list # 1. For generations, there has been a bitter war between the dragon tribes inhabiting the epic world of Pyrrhia. According to the prophecy, the five young dragons will rise to end the bloodshed and restore peace on earth. Raised and trained in secret from the moment they hatch, the Dragons of Destiny – Clay, Tsunami, Glory, Starflight and Sunny – embark on an evolving mission that will put them face to face with their true selves and the overwhelming sheer size of this wild war they are about to end.
The fantasy series Wings of Fire consists of a lot of books. It is divided into three different plots, each containing five books. The Dragonet Prophecy is the first and Netflix will be working on it.
