The adventures of not small bosses – review of the animation “The Boss Baby: Family Business”

It is said that between brothers it is different – sometimes better, sometimes worse, especially when they grow up … In the animation The Boss Baby: Family Business, we meet two relatively settled men – Tim and Ted Templeton. One is the husband and father, the other is the president of the hedge fund. Do they still remember when they were children?

Youth is not eternity, old age is not joy

Carol and Tim are happily married. They live in the suburbs with their children, one-year-old Tina and seven-year-old Tabitha. Children show extraordinary intelligence, although initially parents do not necessarily notice their potential. Tim’s younger daughter is an undercover agent for BabyCorp, an organization of super-intelligent children. Another mission, assigned to the girl’s “account”, is related to the secrets of the new school of the heroine’s sister, Tabitha. The founder of the facility, Dr. Erwin Armstrong, does not inspire the management’s trust and undoubtedly should be checked. However, only someone whose absence at home can be justified in some way can become an agent. How about the Templeton brothers?

The Boss Baby – I want it again!

Tom McGrath as director, Michael McCullers as screenwriter and Steve Mazzaro and Hans Zimmer as music specialists, and we have a recipe for success! The latest film proposal is a real treat for fans of the repeatedly nominated animation from 2017 – The Boss Baby (seven-year-old Tim meets a boss-baby who pretends to be a baby, who came to earth with a mysterious mission), as well as the 2018 series The Boss Baby: Back in Business (Boss Baby as a business coach), currently at number 248 in the Netflix library (it’s really worth it!). The animation in question is a wise story that shows how important the relations between children and parents are – their presence, support and care. During the screening, we do not have time to be bored – something is happening all the time. We observe the world from the perspective of both children and adults, girls and boys, mothers and fathers. And guess what? Such an animation plan is perfectly fine! Great music, combined with a fast-paced action and a good dose of humor, supported by fantastic dubbing (in the original version there are, among others, Alec Baldwin, Lisa Kudrow or Eva Longoria, in the Polish version, among others, Kamil Kula, Krzysztof Banaszyk, Antonina Krylik, Agnieszka Fajlhauer, Krzysztof Dracz and Jarosław Boberek) – it’s really worth hearing and watching! I guess every family member will find inRodzince something for everyone, even though the movie no doubt – in many respects – like its predecessor.

Nomination pressure

This animation is the official continuation of the Oscar and Golden Globe nominated film – The Boss Baby. Once again we see babies dressed in suits, which will make a mess of it! The creators decided on a certain key in giving names – moms Tim, Ted, Tina and Tabitha, which makes it easy to remember family relationships. The cooperation of the heroes in the latest DreamWorks production is characterized by – it is impossible to hide – the duplication of the plot: the family has to face a cruel and ruthless antagonist. You can accuse the film of a lack of originality, but I think that after so many years of producing the first part of the series, we should be happy about the return of the heroes, especially because they do it in a really good style. The studio has made every effort to make the latest offer of the series appeal to viewers of all ages. My young companion was delighted, and I had no worse fun! However, I have a piece of advice if you are going to a screening: throw aside religious disputes, don’t look for hidden meanings, and you will have a really good time. Also, do not wonder if the story solution – where the characters magically return to their childhood days – is appropriate; this repetition will not really bother you.
