The hallmark of the film is undoubtedly the murderous Art the Clown . This is what causes shivers down the backs of the viewers, and in the second part, even vomiting and fainting. However, not everyone knows that it had its beginning earlier. The 2008 shorts The 9th Circle and 2011’s Terrifier launched Clown’s fame.
Recently, a joking post by the director (Damien Leone) appeared on social media.
One of my main goals with Terrifier 3 is to recapture the horror factor present in the original Terrifier short . It had a genuinely spooky atmosphere that I’m still proud of. If all goes to plan, Part 3 will be the scariest Terrifier yet.
The budget of the previous installment was $250,000. The horror grossed as much as $10 million in the United States alone, forty times its initial total. It is one of the most successful productions of this year.
In a recent interview with Variety, Damien Leone revealed how Terrifier 3 could potentially affect future productions:
There are so many unanswered questions raised in Part 2 and that was part of the project because I knew I was going to Part 3. I have quite a bit of a ready plan for Part 3 but it’s getting so big I could potentially split it into part 4. I wouldn’t want to make another 2.20 hour movie. So we will see.
However, he also does not hide some concerns:
I’m afraid eventually the well will run dry and we’ll end up jumping on a shark ; there will be nothing left to tell with this character. This happens with a lot of franchises that I’m still a big fan of. I watched all these parts 10 and 13, but sometimes it can really ruin the whole series. For them to expire or not have that satisfaction, the arc or the movie is heading in a different direction, which can be disastrous. I want to try to avoid it.
Terrifier 2 is now available on Blu-ray! have you watched?
