Tekken 8 doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but it looks like the new part is getting closer. The Bandai Namco team has been releasing new character trailers every few weeks since the beginning of this year. We just got another one!
The latest trailer gives gamers their first look at Bryan Fury, the cop turned cyborg. It debuted in Tekken 3 . He’s been in almost every Tekken release since then, so his appearance here isn’t a surprise. Many fans will be thrilled to see Harbinger of Chaos again.
Fury’s trailer shows him battling two already announced characters. He starts a fight with Jack-8 in what looks like a typical brawl. We then see Fury take on Paul Phoenix in what feels like a more personal battle. The two don’t seem to have a turbulent history. They fought in the Tekken 6 trailer , so this may just be a throwback to that moment, but it could also be a clue to where the story is headed in Tekken 8 .
The ploy where he turns into a cyborg zombie whose only interest is hurting people definitely sets him apart from the more normal fighters. Last time we saw Fury take down a fighter with an iron bar during the final action, we can expect some very strong action from his story.
Fury is not the only fighter revealed recently in Tekken 8 . A few weeks ago, we saw Hwoarang make an appearance, and Lili De Rochefort, Asuka Kazama, and Leroy Smith have also made appearances in the past few months. With 15 characters currently available, we can probably expect a few more trailers as we progress throughout the year. There’s no word on exactly when Tekken 8 will be released, but it certainly seems like we’ll be getting an announcement of a release date pretty soon. Once it’s out, Tekken 8 will come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
