Work on the next production from the Star Wars universe is going pretty well. The new photos show the locations known to us. So what awaits ex – general Kenobi?
Earlier, information confirmed that the series will take place, among other things, on this planet. The return to Tatooine therefore seemed inevitable, especially as the series takes place between Revenge of the Sith (Part III Saga) and A New Hope (Part IV Saga).
One gentleman – Anakin Skywalker (future Lord Vader) – was not particularly fond of the sand covering the local landscape – although he was brought up here, like his son. Obi-Wan Kenobi also spent part of his life on Tatooine after the fall of the Jedi Knights. In addition, he gave the newborn Luke to the care of Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru Lars – these characters will also appear in the series.
Years later, an adult Luke receives a message from Princess Leia – he asks Obi-Wan Kenobi for help.
The title character of the series was the master and friend of the young Anakin Skywalker. He defeated him when he turned to the dark side of the force – in a fight on the Mustawara, after which Vader donned his iconic armor (with a characteristic breath). The actor Ewan McGregor will play Obi-Wan Kenobi again – thus he will repeat his role from episodes I-III.
The locations and cast allow us to theorize about the plot.
Hayden Christensen (Lord Vader) will also return to his role – so it seems likely that there will be a thread of trying to drag Anakin to the light side or saving others from his actions.
There are many indications that in the series we will also see Qui-Gon Jinn as a ghost of power – in The Phantom Menace (Part I of the Saga) he was played by Liam Neeson.
It is puzzling whether we can count on Luke Skywalker in production. McGregor answered the question in an interview with The Hollywood Repoter:
It’s very likely. [note Ed. – to later find out] I don’t know.
However, he confirmed the battle scenes that awaited us.
We’ve been doing these monstrous two-and-a-half hours long sword fighting and hand-to-hand combat sessions for months …
Mark Hamil appeared as young Luke in the Season 2 finale of The Mandaloriana – which gives extra hope for an appearance on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series .
The cast of the series includes: Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie and Maya Erskine.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be available on the Disney + platform.
