It’s no secret that Discworld is one of the most popular fantasy series in history. Now, thanks to the new agreement, fans of Sir Terry Pratchett’s work will get not one, but at least several adaptations of his books.
Today it was announced that the Discworld will be transferred to the small screen in the form of a series of series. These productions will be created by Narrativia – a studio founded by Pratchett eight years ago – Endeavor Content and Motive Pictures. The press release stated that all projects were to be fully faithful to the source material.
Their representatives, including the daughter of the famous author who is also the co-managing director of Narrativia studios – Rhianna Pratchett, spoke about the new cooperation of the three companies mentioned above. Everyone spoke about future projects in superlatives. Virtually everyone emphasized how much they are happy about this occasion and that they will make every effort to properly adapt the iconic Pratchett series.
It is also worth mentioning here about the film adaptation of the story from the Disc World . The series The Watch is currently in production . Filmed for the BBC, it will focus on the Ankh-Morpork City Guard. It is unlikely to be associated with the newly announced projects. Its premiere is to take place this year.
