The Oscar-winner joined to new production based on DC comics. Actress will play the role of an antagonist.
TheWrap website was the first to announce that Sarandon will appear in the Blue Beetle . She will play Victoria Kord, an original character created especially for the film. Interestingly, not so long ago, another cinema legend was associated with the role – Sharon Stone. It is not known why the talks with the star of the Naked Instinct were unsuccessful.
Susan Sarandon will not play the only villain in this picture. Raoul Max Trujillo was cast some time ago as Carapax the Indestructable Man. This villain is taken straight from the Blue Beetle comics. He was a rival of Dan Garrett, the first version of the hero in a blue suit. For now, we are not one hundred percent sure whether the characters Sarandon and Trujillo will join forces in the fight against the protagonist, but it is very possible.
In addition to the abovementioned antagonist roles in the film, we will see Xolo Maridueña as the main character, as well as Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carillo, Damián Alcázar and Harvey Guillen. The film is directed by Angel Manuel Sota. The script for the production was written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcoce.
Blue Beetle is set to hit theaters in August next year.
