Summary of the first WitcherCon in history

The first WitcherCon in history has just ended. The event, organized by Netflix and CD Projekt Red, was broadcast on YouTube and Twitch. Panels with the cast and creators of The Witcher took place , many surprises were presented!

Netflix and CD Projekt Red have joined forces to host the first-ever WitcherCon. The event, broadcast worldwide via YouTube and Twitch, hosted a series of interactive panels with the cast and creators of The Witcher, including Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Mimî M Khayisa, Paul Bullion, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and Declan de Barra .

Below are some statements from the actors and the producer:

Freya Allan  on whether we will see Ciri in the stunt sequences this season:

[Training] was one of the things that excited me the most in season 2 because I love to do it. I love the stuntman. We work with the best people on this, they are very cool and bring out the best in us. But yes, Ciri will actually start training and that will be one of her main motivations. She is very determined and really wants to be able to fight like a witcher and become a witcher.

Anya Chalotra  on the favorite traits of her character, Yennefer:

I love that she will find advice for everything. I like her for being brave. This is my favorite feature in Yennefer. Of course, there are more of the cool ones. I looked a little like her. We shape each other.

Henry Cavill  on the way his hero, Geralt, went:

How I played Geralt in the first season was thoughtful from the beginning. Most of the time he was in the wild, he was unable to conduct extensive dialogues. So I thought it would be best if it was a person who speaks little, because it gives the impression that he is thinking more. That was my intention. But once I got to know the scenario with Cirilla, The Witchers and places and people he already knows, I decided to let him be more talkative and philosophical, talk more and get smart, because that’s what he is. He’s not just a big old gray-haired brute.

Lauren Schmidt Hissrich  on new characters in Season 2:

There are many new characters that we will introduce to viewers in Season 2. We will see Dijkstra and the Kingdom of Redania for the first time. I know many fans are excited to meet characters like Filippa, Codringher, Fenn, Rience, Nenneke for the first time. There are many of them, but I must say that Vesemir is the one I look forward to meeting the audience the most. Vesemir is an integral part of the story we are telling this season. This is the first time we’re moving to Kaer Morhen, and in the season Geralt became Ciri’s father, it seemed important to us to show who his father was. It all adds up to a multi-generational story because Vesemir and Ciri have a story too, and you start to think, “Oh, all these people should interact with each other, learn from each other and fight with each other.

If you missed the live stream, you can still watch it on YouTube:

In addition to the panels, there were also presented special materials, musical cutscenes and many unique surprises and never-before-revealed information about the Witcher series   and the upcoming anime movie.

Videos were shown from behind the scenes featuring the talented production team. Including, for example, armorer Nick Jeffries:
