Still shrouded in mystery, the new adaptation of the Mortal Kombat series of games already has its first cast role.
Although the plot and character list are still uncertain, work on adapting the cult series of fighting games is by no means standing still. It was recently announced that Raid star Joe Taslim was hired for one of the roles . The actor will play one of the iconic fighters, which is inextricably associated with the Mortal Kombat brand – Sub-Zero.
Currently, pre-production work is underway on the project in Australia. Castings are held there, and shooting is also to start this year. Recent announcements show that the creators are still looking for actors for spoken roles. Mortal Kombat is directed by Simon McQuoid and produced by James Wan. Greg Russo was commissioned to write the script.
We may have to wait even a few months for the next cast announcements. The team still has a lot of time to complete the cast and other works, as the premiere of the film was not announced until March 2021.
