Attention! This is not a joke. This is not exercise. Anyone who can stay at home. And he watches series. I know that most of you have your own (often extensive) lists of catch-up titles - nevertheless, I decided to take a look at the offer of streaming services available on the Polish market. Here is the most subjective list of items worth attention.
At number 9 (2014 – still)
Number of seasons: 5
Number of episodes: 30 + 1 special
For uncertain times – pitch black British sense of humor. The duo of Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton is almost an institution, although still undiscovered on the Vistula River. Their newest child – At number 9 – is an anthological series. Each episode is a separate story, only the title “nine” connects them – the number of the action location. The creators do not limit themselves when it comes to choosing a place (it can be an apartment, a luxury villa, a gothic castle, but also … a compartment on a train), or the plot itself – the authors play with conventions, genres and viewers’ expectations, always serving a surprising, macabre twist .
On HBO Go, you will now watch four of the five resulting seasons.

Twin Peaks (1990 – 91, 2017)
Number of seasons: 3
Episodes: 48
Who Killed Laura Palmer? This question has been heating up the brain ganglia of viewers around the world since good Pete Martell (Jack Nance) found a body wrapped in plastic foil on the river bank. Special agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) arrives in a seemingly sleepy, average American town – then it turns out that the little Twin Peaks hides very dark secrets.
The iconic works of David Lynch and Mark Frost need not be introduced to anyone. It’s a series that changed the face of television – both in the early 1990s and in 2017, when it returned with an unprecedented third season after twenty-six years.
It’s a one-of-a-kind experience, and you can watch all episodes on HBO Go. The accompanying film to the series – Fire with me – is available on Netflix.

Cursed (2009 – 2013)
Number of seasons: 5
Episodes: 37
A group of London outcasts do community service for minor offenses. A violent storm makes them gain supernatural powers. It quickly turns out that not only they …
Another British item on the list is an antidote to the deluge of pathetic, schematic productions about superheroes carrying the weight of the (all) world on their shoulders. Instead of statuesque, unearthly beautiful and flowery expressing demigods, we follow the adventures of fairly ordinary mediocre people with rather mundane problems. Produced by Channel 4, The Accursed deconstructed the schemes and absurdities of superhero cinema long before it became fashionable.

Legion (2017 – 2019)
Number of seasons: 3
Episodes: 27
Living in the shadow of famous parents is not easy – especially if your father is Charles Xavier himself. Especially if you inherited not a surname from him, but great telepathic and telekinetic abilities. Especially if you have been struggling with the diagnosis of a mental illness – schizophrenia from an early age. Your name is David Haller (played by the phenomenal Dan Stevens), although in some circles you are called Legion. Here is your story.
When it seemed that there was nothing new to be said about the superheroes, Noah Hawley blew in with a psychedelic, compelling adaptation of the story of one of the most interesting heroes in Marvel’s Cabinet of Curiosities. The creator, previously responsible for the first seasons of Bones and the Fargo anthology , gives us a thoughtful, aesthetically impressive ride with an incredible narrator in the lead role.
Two of the three produced seasons of the series are available on HBO Go.

Mr. Robot (2015 – 2019)
Number of seasons: 4
Episodes: 45
Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) is an inconspicuous programmer during the day and a brilliant hacker in his spare time. One day, a mysterious Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), leader of a group of cyber activists aptly named fsociety. Their purpose? Banal – only complete redistribution of world capital.
As if panic related to the coronavirus is still not enough for you, I heartily recommend all other fears and phobias related to our gray everyday life: unbridled, predatory capitalism, great corporate power, exploitation of the lowest social classes, unstable political situation and progressive environmental degradation. And loneliness – perhaps the greatest plague that plagues us all. And yes I know Mr. The robot is not a fantasy in the strict sense , although the heroes flirt with the possibility of traveling in time and between dimensions, and the narcotic visions and sick creations of Elliot’s mind would not be ashamed of many a horror master. Esmail himself boldly quotes both the greatest authors and the most popular cinematographic works, as well as titles completely unknown to the general public. Really worth.
On HBO Go you can watch three of the four seasons of the series.

Honorable mention : Left behind (2014 – 2017)
Number of seasons: 3
Episodes: 28
Have you ever wondered what you would do if someone close to you disappeared overnight without explanation? No? What if 140 million people disappeared in this way – 2% of humanity? The Prominent Leftovers of Damon Lindelof (yes, the Watchmen one ) and Tom Perrotta struggle with this very question, intertwining supernatural phenomena with psychological analysis and philosophical considerations. Note – it will not be an easy and pleasant screening.
