Stephenie Meyer Announces More Twilight Saga Books!

Thanks to the success of “Midnight Sun”, or “Twilight” from the perspective of Edward Cullen, we can expect more books in this series!

During a virtual event involving Books-A-Million, Meyer revealed that there are two more books in the series she would like to write – albeit something she has yet to explore.

She explained that while  there are still two books in the world of the Twilight Saga that she would like to write, for now she wants to focus on creating new worlds.

There are two more books I’d like to write. I have them elaborated and written into chapters, but I’m not ready for it. I want to do something completely new. Creating worlds brings me the joy of writing, and I’d really like to create a new world, new rules, and a new mythology. Mythology is my horse.

In Midnight Sun , Meyer tells the story of Edward and Bella that started the entire saga. The difference is that it is told through the eyes of Edward. This book was originally scheduled to be published 12 years ago, but the idea was abandoned when the manuscript was leaked online. For fans, Midnight Sun was worth the price, as evidenced not only by the book’s huge success in its first week of existence. The book started a new wave of mania, prompting many fans to revisit social media to learn about the book and how different it is from Edward’s perspective.

Edward in Twilight was considered to be very confident, and in fact he was struggling with doubts and guilt all the time. I think readers will be surprised by his level of continued anxiety. While in Twilight we witness Bella’s every moment of doubt and uncertainty, from Edward’s point of view she is calm and composed.

Meyer also mentioned that Jacob’s story in Midnight Sun is much darker than in the first Twilight Saga .
