Stargirl wasn’t supposed to end? Geoff Johns talks about spin-off plans

Last week, the three-season series came to an end. However, the creator of the production revealed that it was planned to continue. So why didn’t it come to fruition? Geoff Johns answers.

Fans of the series are saddened by the end of the series. However, it turns out that this is not the only reason for sadness. In a recent interview with TVLine, Geoff Johns talked about a potential Stargirl spin-off . The introduction of Jade ( Ysa Penarejo) and her brother (Tim Gabriel) into the second season and the continuation of their plot in season 3 was supposed to be the starting point.

Yeah I think Infinity Inc had a great show of The Shade and Jade stalking the rest of the family – sons and daughters and nephews and nieces – of the original JSA, those who were born with powers yet to be unlocked

Johns said

What scene was supposed to be the beginning of the spin-off?

Jennie appeared in the second season as the daughter of Alan Scott. After learning about her powers and working with the JSA, she began searching for her twin brother, Todd. This mission led her to The Helix Institute. In the third season, he goes there again. The Shade, along with Courtney and Pat, discovered that Todd was dealing with dark powers. Pat convinced The Shade to help the siblings and become their mentor. Jennie, in turn, made a condition that she would agree to such a solution when Sandy Hawkins (Sandman’s nephew) would also help. This scene was supposed to be the beginning of the sequel, because it could be really interesting to watch the struggle with inherited powers that are not yet completely controlled.

I think it would be fun to watch The Shade as a villain trying to reform himself by recreating a new superhero team. There would be something really convincing about it as a show.

Geoff Johns added

Unfortunately, due to the huge changes in The CW and the fact that Nexstar became the owner of the network, it is impossible to implement this idea. Fans can watch the first two seasons on HBO Max and the last on The CW Television Network.
