In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ewan McGregor revealed that according to the current plan, shooting for Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi is scheduled to start next spring. The actor was excited to return to the role of Jedi Master. He was last seen as Obi-Wan in the closing trilogy of prequels, Revenge of the Sith .

During the interview, McGregor also confirmed one important detail about the show. According to him, there are no plans for the production to get more than one season. Earlier this was indicated by comments from the head of the Lucasfilm studio – Kathleen Kennedy.

The first rumors about the project dedicated to master Kenobi appeared in 2018, even before the spinoff on the young Han Solo was released. With the rest, several possible films were mentioned then, set between the already known plot threads and focused on specific characters. After the poor performance of Han Solo: A Star Wars Story, all rumors fell silent. The official Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi teaser was released last year.
