“All of the shows we’ve been working on – The M andalorian , Ahsoka , The Book of Boba Fett , now Skeleton Crew – all exist within the same timeframe. They happen after the Return of the Jedi. Thirty years between Episode VI and Episode VII, which are somewhat unexplored, certainly on the screen. ” Favreau told Entertainment Weekly.
Favreau, who oversees Mando-Verse with Star Wars producer and director Dave Filoni, admitted that the 30-year span known as “Rise of the First Order” in the official Disney canon has been explored in the novels and the extended universe. But as Favrau said, there is plenty of room for the TV format to tell stories and guide the fate of the many characters that are set at this time.
“In The Mandalorian , we remind people of characters they’ve known before. Or if someone is unfamiliar with other works and is just entering the Star Wars universe , we present them for the first time, ”said Favreau.
Still from the movie “The Mandalorian”
At the May Star Wars Celebration convention, Lucasfilm officially announced a new live-action series created by Spider-Man director Jon Watts and produced by Favreau and Filoni.
Season three of The Mandalorian continues the adventures of Din Djarin and Grog with fan-favorite characters such as Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff). The premiere will take place in February 2023 on Disney +.
