The rebellion will take off as a new trailer for Andorra appears on Good Morning America. The Star Wars prequel series, which returns to the Empire era five years before the events of Rogue One , follows Cassian Andor’s (Diego Luna) transformation from a revolutionary refugee to a Rebel spy. Months after the teaser was released for Star Wars Celebration, there was a sneak peak into the budding rebellion and the return of future Rebel leader Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly). ABC’s GMA announced that Diego Luna will be making a live appearance on the show to unveil the first full-length Andorra trailer on Monday, August 1.
Series creator Tony Gilroy, who wrote the script for Rogue One, revealed that the 12-episode first season would take place within one year; Season 2 is confirmed to cover the next four years leading up to Rogue One .
The series tells how Andor became a hero who will sacrifice himself along with Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and their Rogue One squad to steal the Death Star plans – enabling Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) to deal the killing blow of the Empire’s superweapons.
“This man gave his life for the galaxy, right. Consciously, soberly, without vanity and recognition, he sacrificed himself. This is what the first season is about. About the fact that he is really reluctant to revolution, cynical, lost and in a sense in disarray. ” Gilroy told Vanity Fair about the spy assassin Luna.
Gilroy announced that Andor begins with the destruction of the world, the birth of Cassian, and revolves around his adopted home. Then the action moves to another planet, which is completely dismantled in a colonial manner. The empire is expanding rapidly. They get rid of anyone who gets in their way.

Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgard, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Fiona Shaw star . Star Wars: Andor will be available August 31 on Disney + .
