Obi-Wan is back in a new series in the Star Wars universe. Ewan McGregor, more than sixteen years after the premiere of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith , will again play the role of the beloved Jedi master. On Star Wars Day, May 4th, a new trailer for the long-awaited production appeared on the official Twitter series of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Alec Guiness was the first to play the role of Obi-Wan in the cult Part IV: A New Hope and the next two episodes, but it was Ewan McGregor who played the junior Jedi Knight in the prequel trilogy. It is him that we will see in the series on Disney + Obi-Wan Kenobi , where he will, of course, play the title character.

McGregor is not the only one who returns to the Star Wars universe after many years . In the series we will also see Hayden Christensen, of course in the role for which he is already well known – Anakin and Darth Vader. The cast will also include stars such as: Kumail Nanjiani, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Maya Erskine, Sung Kang, Benny Safdie, Simone Kessell, Bonnie Piesse, Moses Ingram, Indira Varma. We do not know yet what roles the above-mentioned actors will play.
The plot of the series takes place between the Revenge of the Sith and the New Hope . As the Galactic Empire grew stronger, Obi-Wan had to hide somewhere. To this end, he went to Tatooine, where he watched from a distance as Anakin’s son, Luke Skywalker, was growing up. After Padme’s death and Anakin’s transition to the dark side, Luke was raised in the care of his aunt and uncle, and his sister, Leia, was adopted by Senator Bail Organa.
