There’s a lot going on in a galaxy far, far away, with plenty of new series and potential movies on the horizon. One of the most promoted projects right now is Star Wars: Ahsoka , which will be the biggest live-action show to date starring Ahsoka Tano ( Rosario Dawson ). Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan debuted as one of the main characters in the animated series The Clone Wars , and made her first live-action appearance in the second season of The Mandalorian . So far, little is known about the project, but it looks like you can already estimate the release date. According to new information from Variety about the future of Star Wars , it can be inferred that Ahsoka’s premiereon Disney+ will take place in late summer, which is likely to be August or September this year.

The plot of Ahsoka will be derived from the events of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and will focus on the further fate of the title character. The cast, in addition to Dawson playing the lead role, will also include: Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren), Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker), Eman Esfandi (Ezra Bridger). The series is written and produced by Star Wars creative icon Dave Filoni, and will be executive produced by his longtime collaborator Jon Favreau.
I’ve been thinking about an adventure for Ahsoka for a long time, and it’s interesting to see how her character has evolved. Years ago, I would never have thought that a guy [like] Din Djarin or a kid who looks like Yoda would come on the same branch. It’s a great lesson for me when you have creators like Jon Favreau by your side, they can help you add depth and dimension to what you create.
