Over the past few months, Star Wars fans have had a few ways to look at the highly anticipated Star Wars: Ahsoka series. On July 11, a brand new trailer was unveiled that sheds more insight into the plot. Not only do we learn how our heroes have dispersed since the events of  Star Wars: Rebels , but we also get our first full look at Grand Admiral Thrawn in it.

Fan-favorite Star Wars heroine Ahsoka Tano returns in an all-new series on Disney+. Rosario Dawson stars in Star Wars: Ahsoka as the title character. The premiere will take place in August. The series picks up after the events of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett , in which we saw the former Jedi searching for Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), helping Luke Skywalker train Grog. Ahsoka will join her new mission alongside longtime allies Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). They will try to track down Thrawn, who was last seen disappearing into the far reaches of space after a confrontation with Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi).

You can watch the full Star Wars: Ahsoka trailer below, ahead of the show’s premiere on Disney+ on August 23.

After Thrawn became the basis of the Star Wars Legends story,  he returned to the official Star Wars canon in  Star Wars Rebels , where he focused on defeating the  Ghost crew . Heroes Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren, and Zeb Orrelios not only hoped to help the Rebel Alliance fight the Galactic Empire, but they also know the threat of Thrawn as a member of a nefarious organization.

When Ahsoka Tano made her debut in The Mandalorian , played by Rosario Dawson, she confirmed that she was aiming to remove the threat. In the finale of  Star Wars : Rebels, both Ezra and Thrawn were set to die, although the show’s final moments implied Ezra’s survival, which also coincided with Thrawn’s.

As well as showing in this new trailer that Thrawn is apparently alive and well, the footage also offers an update on the general status of the Rebel characters since we last saw them. Hera (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is still one of the best pilots in the Rebel Alliance. It asserts its authority within the organization while also showing that Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) was Ahsoka’s new student at one point, however the pair had some falling outs with each other.
