It turned out that the Ubisoft team is working on reviving the legendary series of spy games, i.e.  Splinter Cell . The conversation about Sam Fisher’s return is contained in a 20-minute video, where the developers, among others. show concept art for the remake.

Ubisoft has unveiled a new Splinter Cell remake video to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series. Splinter Cell is one of Ubisoft’s most loved franchises by gamers. Today, however, one can speak of something like a sleeping legend. The last title about the fate of Sam Fisher was released in 2013, just before the release of Xbox One and PS4. Splinter Cell: Blacklist was a good part, according to some even a great part, yet Ubisoft did not make a sequel for unknown reasons. It is true that the sales results of  Blacklist could turn out to be unsatisfactory for the French company. Let’s remember, however, that the game came out at a similar time as  Saints Row 4 or Grand Theft Auto V , and it certainly affected the bars in some way.

Nevertheless, Ubisoft finally decided to revive the series of spy stealth games, and for starters, it will be a remake of the first part. In the video below, members of the development team shared concept art for the remake and talked about where they are currently in development and what they want to achieve with the project. New-old  Splinter Cell is still in the early stages of development, and the developers emphasize that they are still working on prototypes, so it will be some time before we get to know more details. The team wants to make sure it’s the best game they can do, and as you know, perfection takes time. For now, you need to be patient before seeing the finished game, but it has also been suggested that elements and mechanics already known from previous games Splinter Cell could be implemented into the remake.

It is obvious that fans of the series, provoked by the first official material, will eagerly await the new incarnation of the classic  Splinter Cell . However, it is worth refraining from putting pressure on Ubisoft and give them time to carefully make the game. This is the revival that players have been waiting for almost a decade, and which they have often asked for in the meantime. Poor execution of the remake will undoubtedly be associated with a significant blemish on the image of the brand and in a way would be an insult to the fans of the cult series. It’s good to hear that Ubisoft is actually putting its efforts into making the new  Splinter Cell both familiar to old-timers, but at the same time not departing from modern gaming standards. Perhaps we will even meet a title that will push these standards even further.
