Spend a weekend at Cinema City!

On September 24, Cinema City will premiere the famous Polish drama Let there be no traces and the Danish action film Riders of Justice with Mads Mikkelsen. The family repertoire will include Think Like a Dog – a film full of adventures and humor about a boy’s friendship with a four-legged companion.

Let there be no traces – a drama directed by Jan P. Matuszyński, based on a book by Cezary Łazarewicz of the same title, has been attracting the attention of the audience for a long time. Shown at the Venice Film Festival, nominated as a Polish candidate for the Oscars, it evokes the dramatic times of martial law in Poland and the tragic story of Grzegorz Przemyk, beaten to death by a police patrol. The only witness to the fatal beating is one of Grzegorz’s colleagues, Jurek Popiel, who decides to fight for justice and to testify against the police. Initially, the state apparatus downplays the case, but when more than 20,000 people march through the streets of Warsaw behind Przemyk’s coffin, the authorities decide to use all tools against the witness and mother of the deceased to discredit them and prevent Jurek from testifying in court.

The second strong title of this weekend will be Riders of Justice , a Danish action film directed by Anders Thomas Jensen, a director known in Poland from Adam’s Apples.. Markus (played by Mads Mikkelsen) returns from a military mission to take care of his daughter after his wife dies in a train crash. The action gains momentum when it turns out that it may not have been an accident, but a planned attack. An eccentric mathematician, who survived the catastrophe, leads the hero to such a trail. When they manage to gather evidence, only one thing remains: retaliation! Connected by a common goal, they will stop at nothing, even if it involves crossing the fine line between what is truth and what is just a matching piece of the puzzle. The most popular Danish actor on the set is accompanied by Lars Brygmann, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Nicolas Bro.

The last premiere title shown on September 24 will be the family production Think Like a Dog, directed by Gil Junger . The unusual friendship between the twelve-year-old and his dog is shown warmly and with humor, which is additionally reinforced by the fact that, as a result of a mysterious experiment, the boy can hear the dog’s thoughts, and thus communicate with him. However, suspicious people who want to learn the secrets of a telepathic experiment stand in their way. And this will be the beginning of an amazing story, full of adventures and twists, which viewers of all ages will be able to follow on the screen.
