Dungeons & Dragons players will finally be able to return to their Spelljammer campaign . Already this fall, three manuals for the 5e mechanics will be released, in which we will find several new, playable races, a bestiary and the Light of Xaryxis adventure .
The Spelljammer campaign is a space opera- like adventure in which players travel through wild outer space and between worlds on magical spell-powered ships. It is filled with fantastic planets that push the boundaries of fantasy, even for D&D . It was originally published in 1989 and adapted to the 2nd edition. Since then, it has found a group of loyal fans. In recent years, D&D designers have made several mentions of Spelljammerin various adventures and textbooks, which led to the meme “Spelljammer Confirmed” circulating among gamers, which appeared after almost every post about D&D on social media. The creators even teased the fans of the title, announcing the return of the title on April 1. Ultimately, however, we finally got the official confirmation of the campaign.
Among the new races featured in Astral Adventurer’s Guide are Astral Elves, Auto-gnomes, Hadozee (a race of flying ape-like creatures), Giff, Plasmoid, and Thri-Kreen (a race of insectoids with telepathic powers). In turn, among the opponents we find, among others space clowns, deadly comets, and astral and lunar dragons.
WizKids also announced that it will be creating miniatures for Spelljammer scenery, including miniatures in ships to simulate space battles.
