Godzilla vs. Kong shows the duel of two legendary opponents in a spectacular battle, the stakes of which are the fate of the world. Kong and his defenders embark on a perilous quest to find the colossus’ true home. They are accompanied by Jia, a young orphan who has a unique and strong relationship with Congo. Unexpectedly, the furious Godzilla stands in the way of the expedition, wreaking havoc all over the globe.
The monster suddenly behaves differently, and scientists at Monarch, the government’s cryptozoology agency that studies the Titans, are trying to figure out why it has seemingly turned its back on humanity. Godzilla vs. Kong broke popularity records in theaters and achieved the best box office record on the first day of screening during the pandemic. During the first weekend after the premiere, the film was the most-watched title in the history of the HBO Max platform.

After successfully kicking off the process of creating an all-new cinematic MonsterVerse with the box-office hits Godzilla (2014), Kong : Skull Island (2017) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), the producers decided it was time to expand the universe with a meeting of legendary monsters.
