Snyder’s Bible – Review of the “Justice League of Zack Snyder” DVD

Zack Snyder’s Justice League turned out to be an outstanding production that convinced many viewers to the DC world of screens. Thanks to the release of the production of this title, we also had the opportunity to see that the work of two directors, following one another, does not always bring a good result.

The Justice League will surely be remembered by moviegoers for a long time, and I dare say that its history even surpassed the rise of the on-screen Avengers. Directed at the same time, the father of the DCEU, Zack Snyder, carefully worked on his trilogy, the main character of which was Superman. Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman has not gained much fame. The creator was heavily criticized for both films, and yet he was given a third chance. Unfortunately, due to various vicissitudes, his work was completed by Joss Whedon.As it turned out, the creator of the MCU’s success not only failed to heal the DC cinema universe, but also made the Justice Leaguefrom 2017 became a financial failure and a complete narrative flop. Even the true fan and universe of Clark and Bruce wanted to forget about this “mishap”.

In the backstage, however, a legend echoed that Snyder had created his masterpiece almost to the end, so it sparked the imagination of many fans. A significant hashtag – #releasethesnydercut appeared in the depths of the Internet. Under pressure from fans of Warner Bros. agreed to release the mythical masterpiece as a product to get the new platform moving – HBO MAX. There was so much of the material that we got probably the longest film about tricotteas in history, because for four hours of watching, and on the platform, fans had a choice of both color and black and white options.

A movie that is half as long

Dzieło Snydera mimo swojej długości, nie  nuży ani przez chwilę. Ani przez chwilę nie wieje nudą, choć patosem już tak. Konsekwentnie Snyder tworzy z Supermana figurę mesjańską, której zmartwychwstanie następuje właśnie w tym filmie. Co ciekawe, rozszerza też genezę dwóch bohaterów – Cyborga i Flasha. O ile ten pierwszy miał kilka dłuższych chwil w pierwszej wersji filmu, tak Flash praktycznie nic. Wielkie wrażenie robią popisy Flasha jako speedstera właśnie w snyderowskiej wersji. Podrasowany został również Steppenwolf i to nie tylko z wyglądu, ale i charakterologicznie. Wreszcie możemy ujrzeć jego wyraźne motywy podboju Ziemi oraz relacje z Darkseidem.

Oprócz opublikowania tego obrazu na platformie HBO GO w Polsce, obraz ten doczekał się także wydania na nośnikach cyfrowych, w tym i DVD. Uważam, że to bardzo dobrze, bowiem wielu wiernych fanów DC z radością spaliło nieudany film z roku 2017, zastępując go czterogodzinną rozrywką od Zacka Snydera na swoich półkach.

Tym razem wydanie DVD może nie jest bogate, gdyż nie posiada żadnych dodatków, ale z pewnością czterogodzinne dzieło nie zmieściłoby się na jednym krążku, dlatego więc otrzymujemy dwa. Oczywiście mamy zdubbingowaną wersję filmu, jak i możemy zobaczyć dzieło Snydera po angielsku z polskimi napisami. Dodatkowo jest jeszcze ścieżka z niemieckim dubbingiem..Kolejny atut wydania to zachowanie obrazu filmowego w proporcjach 4:3, czyli zgodnie z wersją reżyserską, która dodaje pewnego smaczku podczas oglądania.

Godna wzmianki jest sama okładka. Przedstawia się tak, jak powinno przedstawiać się dobre wydania filmu od DC – mroczna, cała na czarno, pokazując, że nie mamy do czynienia z cukierkowym Marvelem. Zdjęcie okładkowe prezentuje nam już między innymi legendarnego Supermana w czarnym kostiumie oraz złowrogiego Darkseida w tle.

Wydanie DVD Ligi Sprawiedliwości Zacka Snydera to naprawdę udana pozycja i warto mieć tę „cudowność” na półce. Dlatego zachęcam do nabywania i dumnego eksponowania we własnym domu.
