The latest volume of the adventures of the Smurfs will undoubtedly delight you! We get three stories from Peyo Creations. These are: the title Smurf Sorcerer , Traps for Smurfs and In Love with Smurfette . Over fifty pages of great fun await you!
Three stories
In accordance with the numbering of Smurf Sorcerer continued by the Egmont publishing houseis the seventh volume of the series (out of a total of thirty-two published). The authors of the scripts are Peyo, Yvan Delporte and Gos. In the reviewed volume we meet a nameless Smurf whose interest in magic we would describe as… unhealthy. He dreams of learning all the magic secrets and even becoming a true sorcerer! Papa Smurf does not support his ward in these activities, because he knows how dangerous magic can be. Unfortunately, the curious seeker of secret knowledge remembers a different (than Papa Smurf) owner of magic books. He is – as you can guess – none other than Gargamel! In the second story, we will see what unsmurf idea the main antagonist of the series came up with. The Smurfs will have to find a way to save their skin. The third story is lined with spring inspirations. It’s March so the Smurfs get… incredibly romantic! Smurfette’s visit to the Smurfs’ Village provokes the blue creatures to make further attempts to win her hand. Even Papa Smurf doesn’t shy away from proposing. How this story will end and whether Smurfette will become Mom Smurfette, you will find out in the latest volume!
Keeps the level?
The Smurfs were invented by Belgian screenwriter and graphic designer Pierre Culliford, also known as Peyo. Many of his ideas have been adapted for films about the adventures of blue gnomes. The scripts for the reviewed volume were prepared, as already mentioned, by Peyo, Yvan Delporte and Gos. So, dear readers, don’t be fooled by the differences in how the story is told; is the unquestionable advantage of this volume. What is important, however, when comparing Smurf the Wizard with previous albums (bearing the titles Kosmosmurf , Smurfs and Krakukas , Smurfs and Storks , Jajko i Smurfy or Mama Smurfetka ), the reviewed one is intended rather for older fans of volumes about the inhabitants of the Smurf Village. There is no shortage of acts of aggression (shame, Papa Smurf, shame!), non-conformist behavior of an individual towards the social order, revolt, comments with sexual undertones or socially undesirable behavior. In one of the scenes, the Smurf intends – as can be presumed – to take his own life. To our delight, however, it’s all about swinging on a rope hanging over a tree branch.
Classic
The latest volume about the adventures of the Smurfs is worth having in your collection. For less than thirty zlotys, we get three content-rich stories that will surely make a winter-spring evening more pleasant. Admittedly, I do not recommend this volume to the youngest recipients because of the content it contains, but every young reader will grow up someday and then it will be easier for him to understand not only the Smefs’ brusque behavior, but also some symbolic references by the authors of the scripts. All in all, Smurf Sorcerer is a must-have for all collectors! It will also appeal to those who have not yet explored the secrets of the Peyo universe.
