With last year’s success of the horror film Smile , viewers can look forward to a sequel . During the presentation at CinemaCon , it was officially confirmed that a sequel is in the works! No plot details, release date, or attached filmmakers have been confirmed. The first reports of the second installment were linked to the signing of Paramount filmmaker Parker Finn with an extended deal to develop more films for the studio. It is unclear if he will write or direct the upcoming installment, or if he will potentially oversee the development of the project.
In the original Smile , after Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) witnesses a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, she begins experiencing horrific events that she cannot explain. Rose must confront her disturbing past in order to survive and escape a terrifying new reality.
I Made You Smile , of course it was self-contained, it told its own story. I didn’t think there would be such a demand for a sequel in a million years. They also didn’t fit the story, but I thought it would be really exciting. I still feel like I never want to overtly repeat myself or do the same thing I just did, but I think there could be a really exciting way for there to be more to the world of Smile, but something very unexpected and surprising for an audience with many aces up its sleeve.
