Skull Island: Rise of Kong was officially announced quite recently and by chance. In June, information leaked revealing the existence of a new adventure game about King Kong. Now we got more information.
GameMill Entertainment announced the release date for Skull Island: Rise of Kong this week and said the game will be released on October 17. The announcement of the release date was accompanied by a new trailer intended to show what it would be like to incarnate the legendary King Kong in person .
The game itself is developed by IguanaBee and published by GameMill, the latter being a publisher that already has licensed adaptations of various movies and TV shows in its portfolio.
Skull Island: Rise of Kong – Game Trailer and Release Date
The game’s latest trailer, which has confirmed a release date, starts off with a grainy, cinematic look at the legend of King Kong before moving straight to a giant gorilla smashing things and creating a creature of equally impressive proportions. Some gameplay mechanics have been shown, such as Kong being able to pick up items and hit enemies with them, but for the most part, these are just quick bursts of action that make it difficult to put together any semblance of combos or abilities.
Upon release, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. A brief overview of the game shared by GameMill allowed for a story that went beyond what people would expect from a King Kong game.
Embark on an action-packed quest to avenge the death of Kong’s parents at the hands of the ultimate alpha predator: the lizard terror Gawa. Explore a mysterious island and discover its secrets in a variety of treacherous environments as you discover the power of its exotic flora and fauna. Conquer waves of primordial beasts, fight epic battles against unique bosses, and rise above all who stand in Kong’s path to becoming king!
says the announcement of the game
Games from GameMill Entertainment:
Skull Island: Rise of Kong is one of many different licensed games that GameMill itself has worked on. This publisher frequently collaborates with Nickelodeon owners on games such as Cartoon Network Battle Crashers, Nickelodeon Kart Racers and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, as well as All-Star Brawl 2 . Cobrai Kai and Nerf Legends are just some of the other licensed games that have been released by GameMill, with no partnership with Nickelodion.
However, in the case of this game, it’s easy to see that King Kong isn’t actually in the game’s name, the phrase is sometimes omitted from Kong-related series, games, and even movies. The reason for this are problems with lending licenses and rights to the name, which is also a trademark. Virtually everyone knows who it is when they hear the name of this predatory monster.
